Executive Director´s Message

“2009 has been another absolutely great year!”

We are mid-way through our 40^th year. We have a lot to be thankful for and will touch on a few of them.

We were incorporated in 1969, our original name was "The Regina Foundation" for first twenty years. Then our Board of Directors decided we should provide service to the entire south half of the province. They also decide to change our name to "The South Saskatchewan Community Foundation Inc". It took us thirty years to reach $2,000,000.00. In this last decade, we've grown to over $20,000,000.00. We owe a big thank you to the many friends of the foundation that made this all possible through their donations, advice, personnel time and dedication.

The 2008 Globe Financial Melt Down is now behind us. This had a detrimental impact on our donors investment portfolios. These very generous people continued to support our permanent endowment funds, plus gave extra " flow-through" dollars to help the Charities that make our communities better places for everyone to live, raise a family and work.

The continued support of you, our donors, our donees, all the friends of our community foundation, our Board of Directors, my Executive Administrator and teammate, Cindy Chamberlin will ensure a very prosperous and bright future for our communities.
